Nazi Germany's 'Star Wars' Tank Was a Total Disaster

*Sebastien Roblin* *Security, * The unique Kugelpanzer, or “ball tank”, was built in Germany and at some point shipped over to Japanese-occupied China. *The kinship with World War I-era prototypes ties the Kugelpanzer’s concept to an era in which the tank’s advantage in “mobility” related to its ability to negotiate the cratered and trench-strewn battlefields of World War I, rather than execute Blitzkrieg-style rapid advances. It therefore seems likely the spherical tank’s designers abandoned the Kugelpanzer because of its inability to keep up with the mobile warfare raging acros... more »

Even Martial arts need only eliminate any form of head shot by making it an immediate match loser. Football is the sport with the most difficult problem simply because we will surely need to end tackling since it is impossible to control the outcome on a falling body. That changes the whole game. The truth is that we really needed to rethink tackling anyway. Way too many careers ended by joint injuries. W... more »

The Most Natural Organic Pool You Can Build Yourself

arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 22 hours ago
This certainly is valid and the obvious problems have already been solved in Europe. This is something an experienced pool contractor needs to pick up on. The customers are out there. The present approach has always been unsatisfactory. This eliminates the whole chlorine cycle in particular. Warming may even be something that can be maintained. I do know that a natural pond will readily warm up under the sun as well. . *The Most Natural Organic Pool You Can Build Yourself* *https://wakeup-world.com/2014/08/08/the-most-natural-organic-pool-you-can-build-yourself/?* *By Apri... more »

SE Native Holocaust Late 1600's

arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 22 hours ago
A long time ago i came to the conclusion that the population collapse along the Eastern Seaboard had mostly to do with the depredations of the slave trade and not the problems associated with European disease. What i lacked were useful cultural reports. We are now getting just that in this work. After all, the population along the Atlantic coast to the mountains were largely the result of three thousand years of interaction with European DNA actually dominating. Who would have thought? Do also recall that the Siberian type is a small subset of Asian peoples who made it to... more »

Midnight Meme Of The Day!

DownWithTyranny at DownWithTyranny! - 23 hours ago
*-by Noah* For yesterday's meme, I threw a glaring prison yard spotlight on the 22 Republican creeping lowlife senators who, led by Mitch McConnell, voted against the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act back in 2013. You can consider today's meme Part 2. It too, reflects the basic attitude of Republicans towards women. It's not just about their legislation ideas. Groping is bad enough but, to them, as evidenced by Trump's own recorded statements, republicans just consider groping and forced kissing to be "foreplay." You can start with the cretin in today's meme, Mai... more »

How much does it cost to keep a secret? Well, the U.S. government sort of has an answer: $16.89 billion. That's how much it spent in 2016 to classify information that it deems too sensitive to be released to the public. Some secrets are worth keeping, of course -- like how to cook up chemical weapons, for instance. But other... more »

Sidebar on this : Once upon a time the U.S. dollar was not the currency of international exchange. The Swiss franc was. Politics were not allowed to intrude upon a service based on scrupulous impartiality and confidentiality ( secrecy, to whit ), nor was there any supposed 'duty' to aid 'law enforcement' in harassment of trade. That time was not in the far past, but only a few decades ago. What has happened in the interim ? Decades of economic warfare upon North Korea, Libya, Cuba, Iran...and more. Right now Venezuela should be in the forefront of those seeking reform...and all the nations 'hosting' U.S. military deployments as a routine 'fort'. Currency imbalances have proliferated so that an hour's wage in one country bears no relation to what it might be in another - and cost of living varies with equal astronomic change.
I have no confidence in an impartial outcome when one gang of crooks and cohorts are free to defraud the world. Revision is the only possible way to minimize catastrophe. Rocks and reefs ahead.
